Our Story

Built on Service, Sustained by Community

During the 2020 shutdown, several local churches came together to keep meals available for our community. The Downtown Emergency Soup Kitchen continued serving lunch six days a week, led by our dedicated chef and volunteer coordinator, Erik Tannehill. Erik believed deeply in caring for people through food, and after his passing, the soup kitchen was renamed in his honor.

Today, the Tannehill Community Soup Kitchen serves meals four days of the week with the help of volunteers, community partners, grants, and individual donors. Food is more than sustenance. It brings people together, and it’s the heart of a healthy community. Through collaborative efforts, we continue to ensure that anyone in need has access to a warm, nutritious meal.

Our Community Partners

We’re grateful for the organizations and neighbors who help us nourish our community. Their support strengthens our mission, and there’s always room for more hearts to join us as sponsors or partners.
